About the Game

Aether's Edge was the second project I had the pleasure of working on during my time at the Apple Developer Academy. I worked with 2 other people as a team (Triple Threat) to deliver a command line interface (CLI) choose your own adventure game.

Aether's Edge follows you through a trip to outer space to defeat the evil god king Aether before he annexes all the planets.

A Curious Kind of Organization

We were only given 8 days to make this game happen, so it was a given that unique kinds of organization would be used... and for my team, that was the notes app! We used it for almost all of our communication, brainstorming, and data storage as needed.

The other piece we used was Trello, which was how we organized what would and wouldn't make it into the final.

Hiccups

When a project is due, the only person that cares is... you. And definitely not life. Unfortunately, my teammates were in and out due to life events, and thus it slowed down progress at times, but that's where communication and organization became even more important. Even with those hiccups, because we had everything organized neatly in our note, I was still able to pick up the slack on things that the other's could not. Life does what she pleases.

Reaching the Peak

Despite the hiccups, we were still able to make a playable game for our deliverable!

I'd love to be able to pick this project back up and complete it sometime as time would allow, but I am certainly proud of what we have created thus far.
